FOR SPORTS CLUBS

Surfaces built for clubs that play all year — dealt with direct, not through a middleman.

Football, hockey, netball, tennis and cricket clubs come to us directly for pitches and courts that handle season-round play. One builder, from the ground up — with the capability to deliver the difficult, flagship jobs.

Deal with the builder direct

Come straight to the team that builds it — no head contractor mark-up and no message lost down a chain of subcontractors. Luke and Josh are across your project from the first site visit to handover.

One contractor, start to finish

We self-deliver the entire build — earthworks, drainage, sub-base, surface and line marking — so there is a single point of accountability for your committee, not a chain of trades to coordinate.

Built for season-round play

Our pitches and courts are engineered for training loads and match schedules that don't stop. We've delivered club football pitches built for genuine year-round use.

Capability for flagship club projects

From a 9,000 m² FIFA-grade pitch to multi-code courts and specialist surfaces, we take on the large-scale and technically difficult builds others quote out of — to an award-winning standard.

Clear scope for grants and committees

Clubs build on grant funding and volunteer committees. We quote in plain language and document scope clearly, so you have the detail your committee and funding body need to make the call.

Long-life surfaces, real aftercare

We specify materials built for a 15–20 year service life and back every build with a documented handover, written warranty and a maintenance schedule. We won't be the cheapest quote — we build for the long haul.

Common buyer problem

Clubs need more playable hours without overwhelming volunteers, grants or committees.

Club committees usually have to satisfy players, councils, sponsors and funding bodies with limited time. The surface choice has to stand up to training loads, match-day pressure and a clear approval trail.

Funding bodies need a scope that is legible and defensible.

Committees need one accountable builder from base works to line marking.

Players and coaches need a surface that stays playable through heavy weekly loads.

Committee, grant and project constraints

JL Turf Group is a commercial surface contractor for club, council and institutional assets. We do not position club pages as domestic backyard turf services.

  • Plain-English scopes for committees, sponsors and grant acquittal conversations.
  • Programme planning around seasons, training blocks, wet weather and handover dates.
  • Direct access to the team building the surface, reducing coordination layers.
  • Clear exclusions for approvals, utility conflicts, latent conditions and stakeholder-supplied works.

Maintenance and handover expectations for clubs.

Club surfaces need a maintenance rhythm that volunteers, facility managers and councils can understand. We set that up with handover records and practical care expectations.

Written maintenance schedule for brushing, infill monitoring and drainage observations.

Warranty overview that explains how care evidence protects long-term cover.

Surface-use guidance to reduce avoidable damage from vehicles, footwear or event use.

Close-out records that help committees report back to councils, associations or grant bodies.

Frequently asked questions

Can our club deal with you directly, or do we have to go through council?

You can come to us directly, and many clubs do — it means you're dealing with the team that actually builds the surface, with no head contractor mark-up. We're also happy to work alongside your council or association where a project requires it.

What sports do you build surfaces for?

Football is our largest body of sports work — including a 9,000 m² FIFA-grade pitch — and we build multi-sport and multi-code courts for netball, tennis, basketball and hockey. Beyond synthetic systems, we also install acrylic hard courts and rubber wet-pour soft-fall surfacing, specified to the surface system and code your sport requires.

Can you handle the whole project, including the groundworks?

Yes. We self-deliver the entire build — earthworks, drainage, sub-base, surface and line marking — so there's a single contractor accountable from site establishment to handover, not a chain of trades for your committee to manage.

Are you the cheapest option?

Honestly, no. We specify commercial-grade materials and self-deliver to a standard built to last 15–20 years. Where we win is the ability to deliver intricate and large-scale projects properly the first time, and to support them long after handover.
